About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m May. I offer a counselling service that is -

Safe – confidential, a place of warmth and acceptance.

Human – connection with a real person. I offer a space that welcomes issues you may be finding uncomfortable, traumatic or taboo.

Empowering – if you are looking to make changes in your life I can support you in this.

I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ people, trans/non-binary people, and polyamory. I'm a kink/BDSM aware counsellor. I welcome and am experienced in working with clients from all kinds of backgrounds. I try to be aware of my privilege and how this might affect our counselling relationship.

Having our sexuality, gender or relationship misunderstood by a counsellor can be a harmful and all-too common experience for those of us who are outside the mainstream. I provide a place where people of all genders and sexual orientations, those who practise kink, and those in or exploring non-monogamous relationships can be heard and understood.

As a queer, non-binary person finding a counsellor I could trust and be understood by helped me to get in touch with my own strength, connect with who I really am, and to find my way through difficult and traumatic life events. I'm passionate about counselling and what I have to offer people I work with.

I work from counselling rooms in central Chorlton, and also offer sessions online. My working hours are weekday daytimes and Monday and Tuesday evenings. I try to be as flexible as possible around arranging session times.

My fees are on a sliding scale between £40-£60 depending on income.

All enquiries are welcome so feel free to get in touch. I offer a free phone call before booking a session so you have a chance to answer any questions.
