About me and my therapy practice

I’m a BACP registered person-centred counsellor with over 4 years’ experience empowering my clients to accept and love themselves, to build resilience and strength, and facilitating self-awareness in a safe, non-judgemental space.

Practice description

As a person-centred counsellor I’m not here to give you advice, or tell you what you should do – I believe you already have the answers, but perhaps you need a little help finding them.

I am passionate about helping my clients to reconnect with themselves. I offer a safe space, without judgement, where we can explore your feelings together and work towards your wellbeing goals.

I work with various topics including:

• Low self-esteem

• Lack of confidence

• Anxiety

• Depression

• Loss

• Family difficulties

• Suicidal thoughts and feelings

• Emotional distress

I have particular experience supporting clients through a range of parental challenges, including:

• Behavioural difficulties and how they affect the wider family

• Illness

• Post-natal depression

• Baby and infant loss

• Fertility difficulties

• Child protection/at risk plans

Having suffered with my own mental health, and supported friends, family and colleagues through depression and anxiety issues, I believe it is vital to talk about such things if we are to overcome them, especially in the wake of the global pandemic, and in the face of economic worries.

It can be difficult to open up about mental health; statistically speaking, 1 in 4 of us will experience poor mental wellbeing in our lifetime; and that doesn't account for those who suffer in silence. There are many ways I can help, or help you to find help - if you want to explore these, please feel free to give me a call or drop me a message :-)

My first session

During our first session, we'll go over what you'd like to get out of counselling, and how best I can help with that. We'll talk about boundaries, session frequency, and what you can expect from me during the course of our work together. You'll have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have, and decide whether you feel I'd be a good fit for you.
