About me and my therapy practice

When we feel like our world has been ripped apart, we can experience overwhelming feelings of sadness, lonliness, anger, guilt, shame, relief, numbness, worthlessness, helplessness or emptiness. Maybe there's also pressure to move on, get better or get back to normal. This can feel impossible when you don't know what normal is anymore, who you are or what you really want.

It’s OK not to be OK. We all need to take some time to repair and rethink from time to time. You might wish that you could be more understanding of yourself. Maybe you want to stop avoiding social situations or you desperately want to stop pushing people away. It could be that you are just tired of wrestling with this on your own and are fed up of being frightened of losing everyone around you or being rejected.

Change and loss can come in so many forms, for example, bereavement, redundancy, retirement, divorce, separation or family issues, moving home, a new job, becoming a parent, illness or poor health, depression and anxiety, or loss of identity to name a few.

We are living through ever changing times, with lockdown, self isoloation and trying to figure out what our lives can and do look like right now. It may seem as if we are all in the same boat, but the reality is that things affect us all differently.

Perhaps recent events have made you realise that you have been holding onto pain and distress for too long and now feels like the right time to begin to heal.

I would love to have the opportunity to work with you to help you find your way through the change, loss or bereavement you have experienced. Helping you to recognise yourself again, gain control of your overwhelming emotions, think more clearly, discover what gives you purpose and how to get more of this in your life.

About me and my therapy practice

I see supervision as an opportunity for you to take a step back and together reflect on your client relationships. A place to work through ethical dilemmas or anything you might be finding challenging or demanding and to celebrate progression.

My aim is to provide a safe, compassionate, collaborative, and supportive environment which offers exploration and supportive challenge. I will work hard to honour your unique style, wellbeing, growth and professional development whilst keeping your clients at the very heart of our work together.

I use the Seven-Eyed model of supervision developed by Peter Hawkins to underpin my supervision practice. I work in a supervisee centred way.

I am a Registered Member of the BACP, and work within their Ethical Framework and Professional Conduct Procedure.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in Person Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy (University of Derby)

• PG Cert in Clinical Supervision (University of Derby)

• Certificate in Couples and Relationship Counselling

• Psychotherapy training with Nick Duffel working with Boarding School Survivors

• Certificate in Online Counselling (Webcam and Phone)

I regularly undertake additional CPD training to keep my knowledge up to date.

I work solely in private practice, working with people who have experienced bereavement, burnout or trauma and abuse, including Boarding School survivors.

I am committed to offering supervision in an anti-discriminatory way. I work with people of all genders, ages, abilities / disabilities, cultures, neurodiversity, ethnicity, sexes, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, class, and socio-economic groups.
