About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel stuck in an unhealthy place in your life?
Are you feeling like you are just surviving rather than thriving or not reaching your full potential?
If so, I believe with effective counselling you can unlock your potential and start to achieve the life you want to live. The most vital relationship we have is the one with ourselves, which is why I am passionate about helping individuals find their sense of self, which is often lost in the processes of life. I have supported individuals who have experienced loss, relationship issues, emotional challenges, identity concerns, self-harm, low self-esteem, Anxiety & Depression.
Practice description
How I work as a counsellor?
I create a collaborative space, to help unravel your personal journey & work towards goals to enhance well-being. I will empower you to develop life skills to overcome obstacles, for ex., assertiveness training . We will work together to find resolutions to core issues and personal struggles.
For over ten years I have been working as a counsellor, with individuals, families and young people in both private practices, a family health practice and as a school and college counsellor.
I strive to keep informed of the latest counselling methods and practices through seeking professional development opportunities. I have a Masters Degree in counselling and have developed my counselling practice by being certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, which are all evidence based psychologies. I take a person-centred approach, to work collaboratively with the client to enable them to lead the agenda and pace of the counselling sessions.
I am passionate about counselling and psychology and have experience and training in many areas. I will continue my professional development in order to give you the most up to date research and skills to help you develop the life you want to lead.
I am registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and therefore subscribe to the Ethical Framework laid down by the BACP. I maintain Indemnity coverage, receive regular Clinical Supervision and adhere to GDPR regulations.
My first session
In the first session, we will be working together to explore your core concerns and start to unravel some of your life events. By the end of the first session, we will have created starting goals to work on together. There may be assessments to complete in the first session, to help us gather further information to formulate our direction in the sessions together.
