About me and my therapy practice
25 years of experience as the Clinical Director of a counselling service within an NHS trust and in private practice.
With a background in mental health, I have many years of experience of working with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties.
My aim is to offer you an experience which is safe, supportive, confidential and professional and leads to more insight into the causes of your difficulties; whilst creating more freedom of choice and greater ability to move forward in your life.
Practice description
My practice is in central Richmond; 10 minutes walk from the station and town centre.
At present I am working with Zoom, FaceTime and telephone, with a view to returning to face-to-face work, if this is the clients choice, when it is safe to do so.
I have many years of experience of working remotely as well as face-to-face and I believe that I can offer you an experience of therapy which is both safe and informed by the highest levels of professional experience and practice.
My first session
Before starting therapy it is helpful to meet with me for an initial consultation. At present the assessment session would be via video or telephone.
This creates an opportunity to talk over the issues with which you want help and assess whether the process is likely to be of benefit. Following the initial consultation you will have the opportunity to take time to decide whether you feel positive about proceeding. If therapy is likely to be helpful, but a specific type of therapy which I am unable to offer is indicated, I will do my best to find the best possible therapist for the client as far as I am able
Any potential concerns about therapy such as confidentiality or the length of therapy can be talked about at this stage.
