About me and my therapy practice
Hello, thank you for taking the time to look at my page. I have worked for 18 years as a counsellor, I enjoy running my own private practice, supporting individuals, young adults, teenagers, families, groups. My work has included, local authorities, NHS, organisations, EAP’s, and young people in schools, in residential settings and privately.
10 years ago I began to study mindfulness, I became aware how helpful it might be for my clients, struggling with today's difficulties and so began introducing it into my therapy practice. The response has been remarkable, I love the fact I can incorporate mindfulness into therapy, ........should you wish, allowing for increased, clarity and focus and decreased depression and anxiety.
Using my therapeutic background I am able to adjust the work to your individual needs.
My work is based on Person centered, Solution focused, mindful therapy, to enable you recognise and develop your life as you want it to be
I continue to further my training in both therapy and mindfulness
I offer a safe , confidential, and non-judgmental space. I will listen to you, to understand your worries and anxieties. I will work hard to empower you, through therapy and mindfulness and provide you with tools to manage stress, anxiety and depression, allowing you to to build your self esteem and deal with life challenges.
I will consider ways to individually enhance self belief and resourcefulness, encouraging resilience and positive achievements.
My aim is to guide you to understand and manage your difficulties. By encouraging you to share what you feel and need, you can learn to look at your world from another perspective and begin to build your world as you want it to be.
The work will be guided by you and your needs. The timescale will be discussed at our initial meeting and regularly reviewed.
My first session
I offer a free, initial 30 minute telephone session. This is a chance for you to get a flavour of the way we might work together. There is no obligation to proceed but should you feel confident to go ahead, we can arrange the first session.
The first session will be on Zoom, it will last an hour and differs from all other sessions in that it is a chance get to know each other, for me to listen to your background and begin to understand what has brought you to therapy. I will also answer any questions you may have.
Again there is no obligation to proceed, but should you wish, we can make a plan of the way forward.
