About me and my therapy practice

Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, relationships or work related issues? Are you trying to solve problems yourself, or perhaps with the help of family and friends, yet still feeling stuck or misunderstood?

Then maybe it’s time to seek support.

There are times in life when we feel like we may need some guidance or mentoring from a professional. There can be tremendous value in talking through your ideas, problems and feelings with a therapist who has the experience, training and expertise to help with what you are going through.

Starting the process of individual counselling can be both empowering and daunting. For this reason, it is the client who sets the pace. Working as a team, we seek to gain biographical insight and confront obstacles to change. Developing the clients self awareness and skills can lead to more confident decision making, internal resilience and lasting solutions.

Working in private practice and with a range of organisations, my work is Integrative, meaning I integrate various models of therapy (Humanistic, CBT, Transactional Analysis and Psychodynamic) concepts to suit each clients individual needs.

About me and my therapy practice

Supervision is about creating a healthy space where the supervisee can explore his or her work practice in a supportive, challenging, empathetic and contained environment.

In essence, the supervisor is an impartial third party in the psychotherapeutic process between the counsellor and client.

Enabling a space for the individual to enrol in the opportunity of engaging in their own critical reflection, the overall approach to their work, considering their thoughts and feelings, rationales and interventions.

As a supervisor I am interested in the quality of the supervisees work, with a view to safe clinical and ethical practice and protection for both involved in the counselling process.

Supervision essentially enhances the quality of support and helps safeguarding for both the supervisee and the client.
