About me and my therapy practice
I provide clients with the tools to be able to face and overcome new and old challenges. This may involve cultivating a sense of self compassion and inner peace to allow one to thrive in the fast-paced modern world, or learning to develop a sense of purpose and joy in life.
I strive to create a friendly, warm space for my clients, where they can fully be, and learn to understand themselves better. My way of working is client-led and believes in the importance of presence and utilising the relationship between therapist and client as a vehicle for change. Where appropriate, I also bring my experience as a mindfulness meditation teacher into the room.
Practice description
My practice combines different modalities of therapy, which may include person-centred, compassion-focussed, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychodynamic, attachment, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and existential approaches.
Themes I work with include interpersonal relationships, sexuality, gender, grief, trauma, anxiety and depression. I have extensive experience working with young adults, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community.
My first session
The first session will involve running through my therapy contract and how our relationship may work. I will let you lead the session in a way that you are comfortable with and provide insights and tools around any challenges you may be facing. Building a sense of empathy, trust and safety between us is my priority in the first session, as well as working out what your goals for therapy are.
