About me and my therapy practice
I am passionate about the work I do, it is of great importance to me, as are all my clients. I am a warm and friendly person, and offer a safe, professional and confidential space.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor and a qualified counselling supervisor.
I offer counselling to children, young people/adolescents, adults, older adults, and students (including Counselling Students), through long term, short term or open ended therapy. I practice as an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, drawing from many theories and models in order to offer each client their own personal way of working through their issues. I have worked as a counsellor for over thirteen years.
I specialise in working with young people, offering support at the point of their need. I take Confidentiality and Safeguarding very seriously and offer a safe and contained space in which all my clients can explore their issues and find new resources and ways in which to make their lives happier and more fulfilling.
I offer free, no-obligation Initial Assessments to all prospective clients.
I work via Online and Telephone sessions. I have recently moved to Scotland, and currently only have the facilities to work face to face with supervisees. I am working on facilitating face to face counselling soon.
I also offer walk and talk therapy and supervision in my area.
I am covered by full Indemnity Insurance, take regular monthly/fortnightly supervision, depending on my case load. I am committed to ongoing Personal and Professional Development, and I have a current Enhanced Government Disclosure and Barring Certificate (DBS).
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.

My first session
Our first session is always free, and as with all my sessions, will last for one hour.
In this first session you have the opportunity to ask me any questions about me or my practice.
We will work through an assessment, this helps me to know what the potential client's needs are, and what I am able to offer. We can discuss this, and then we are both able to make an informed decision as to whether we wish to work together. There is no obligation to go ahead and work with me. It has to feel right for us both.
You are not required to make a decision at that appointment, I suggest going away and having a good think about how you felt whilst sitting with me, as this is a taster of what it will be like to work with me.
