About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified and registered counsellor/psychotherapist and integrative arts psychotherapist experienced in working with short, medium and long term clients with a wide range of presenting issues, such as depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, bi-polar disorder, addictions, eating disorders, family and relationship problems. In addition to my private practice I work across the public, private and voluntary sectors and in research, within the field of mental health. As a psychotherapist and counsellor, my hope is that by working together you will be able to begin to explore issues that are causing you concern and making life harder than it might be for you. In my private practice I offer a safe and confidential space where I will listen, non-judgmentally, and help you to begin to understand your feelings and thoughts. I work with adults, adolescents and children offering psychotherapy or counselling, depending on the individual needs of the client. I am trained in an integrative approach which supports me in providing a service to meet the individual needs of the client. We are all different and as such don’t all respond in the same way; therefore, I believe it is important to fit the way of working to the client rather than the client to the way of working. Whether or not you have had therapy before, meeting a new therapist can feel daunting and it is important that the therapist you choose is right for you. In the first meeting we can discuss your focus for therapy and you can ask questions and decide whether you will feel comfortable working with me. With this in mind, my first consultation is free as I believe it is important for you to see if we are able to work together before committing to regular sessions.
