About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). I have worked for the NHS, within a women's charity and currently in private practice. Naturally empathetic, and open, clients feedback is that I am approachable and understand their sometimes complex range of personal issues including, depression, fertility, loss and bereavement, relationships, anxiety, work-related stress & interpersonal relationships. I work flexibly with clients in terms of length of therapy and am able to tailor to suit the individual.

I offer person-centred counselling with a warm, genuine and non-judgemental attitude in a completely safe space. I am committed to supporting your work towards your goals and face what needs to be faced, at your own pace, a session at a time. I have 12 years of working experience in the substance misuse/addictions field and I am very aware of what issues can develop through the misuse of alcohol or drugs.

I have experience working with women and men around problems such as domestic abuse, depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

I believe that everyone has a unique story, embedded and intertwined within a bigger picture; family, and the wider world. Challenges can arise in different ways and manifest in multiple forms throughout life, making it difficult to move forward.

I can help support your work through fear, anger, anxiety, & stress that may be harming your relationship with yourself, your personal relationships or friendships? Maybe you are supporting or working with the challenges of others who are experiencing & perhaps projecting their fear, anger, anxiety, & stress on you, maybe someone close to you? Perhaps you have reached a point in your life or are at a crossroads, and unable to see your way forward, or you may be grieving the loss of something or someone dear?

Practice description

I work with adults from 18+.

I offer therapy sessions face to face, online, via telephone, or outside in nature providing walk and talk therapy. I do offer a free 20-minute phone consultation before therapy sessions start.

I am flexible on the working hours described and I will accommodate where I can, outside of the session hours. Please feel free to ask.

My first session

I offer a free telephone consultation to help me understand why you're reaching out and to answer any questions you may have. During this conversation, if we agree that we can work together, we will arrange our first session.

The first session is focused on getting more details about the issues that have brought you into counselling and to agree on our way of working together.

So, if you feel we could work together, give me a call or send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
