About me and my therapy practice

My name is Lyndon Webb and over the past 15 years i have experienced challenging times in my life from which I have had been most fortunate to benefit greatly from the experience of various talented counsellors. It is this that drove me to want to  work as a Person-centred psychotherapist providing counselling for clients who have a variety of emotional and psychological concerns and problems that may arise throughout the course of our lives.

Person-Centred Counselling is a professional and equal relationship between client and counsellor. Therapy takes place in a safe, confidential  and non-judgemental space where you will be invited to talk about about and explore your concerns and what is troubling you. I enter the relationship with no agenda and and as genuine as i possibly can be.

Sessions are led by the client who decides what it is they wish to talk about-I take the view that the client knows themselves best and if the right conditions are facilitated the client will come to know themselves better, experience themselves more fully and develop a greater awareness of themselves at their own pace.

Often the process of exploring your issues can be emotionally can be hard to talk about because the healing process requires remembering things which may be unpleasant, but it is also often very rewarding when under he right 'environment' you can gain the ability to identify and explore your options more openly, freely and independently.

Practice description

I understand that taking the first steps towards counselling for the first time can be a difficult and daunting undertaking and taking the courage hat is required to take this path is worthy of recognition in it self as you have acknowledged there is something not quite right which seems too challenging to face alone- that professional help from another is required.

I work from my home office/therapy space with most of my experience being on a one-to-one basis helping individuals' with their personal, and professional issues and anxieties.

My office made very easy to sanitise. The chairs which are two meters apart are leather and the furniture is wood and everything is sanitised after each client. The windows can also be open for ventilation.

My first session

Our first session will be a concessionary 40 minutes which will give us the opportunity for you to ask any questions and for us to gather a little information about each other and go over the details of the process of counselling and confidentiality. It will allow us to discuss boundaries around counselling and make sure that you understand everything is clear to begin with. It will allow to discus what your main goals of therapy are during the counselling process. These may change over time which is perfectly understandable. The first session will also give the the chance to see if you feel i am the right counsellor for you and if you think i am the right person to help with your situation.
