About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Iain. As a therapist with a background of working at charities such as Mind, I work with the here and now considerations of your immediate circumstances, to help you overcome obstacles on your path to greater clarity and self-reassurance. By working together to find understanding over your process, we can restore your confidence and help you to choose a more decisive direction with a renewed perspective.
Perhaps you are struggling in your relationships, feel unheard and unacknowledged by people close to you. Or you need to gain understanding about a complicated situation. Maybe you want to overcome an undesirable attribute or unwanted behaviour. Or do you want to overcome depression, come to terms with loss or simply get support at a difficult time in your life. Therapy provides a place for you to reflect on what you may be finding challenging. Through talking in a safe space, this can often be the start of a revelation and in the finding of clarity, we often find the opportunity to choose.
I have experience in working with abuse, addictions, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, general counselling, obsessions, relationship issues, stress, panic attacks and anxiety.
You have a right to expect that I will uphold the principles of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy ethical framework which has emphasis on a persons right to self-autonomy and self-governance.
Working with the ethical framework I will aim to uphold your rights and work morally. I will provide a contract and an agreement at the start of our work together. The first session is free.
My first session
My first session is free. This is to allow us to see if we are the right 'fit' and to give us an unpressured start which may outline areas of focus or areas of concern.
