About me and my therapy practice

About me

Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Faye and my aim is to offer you a safe and calm approach that is rooted in compassion and understanding to fit your needs, difficulties and concerns.

I work specifically through a non-judgemental, warm, accepting, authentic therapeutic relationship with each person to aid them on their journey to recovery, in order to gain a better sense of self to reach their full potential.

I firmly believe that evidenced practice should be at the heart of therapy and I aim to work with all my clients through a collaborative therapeutic relationship. My training is underpinned by combining Counselling with the rigour of Psychology and I currently specialise in CBT, Person-Centred and Psychodynamic approaches to therapy, although I tend to work integratively.

This means that I use a range of therapeutic techniques, underpinned by both theory and research to best suit the needs of the client.

Working together - what to expect.

Each client is unique and my aim is to honour that by avoiding a one size fits all approach. Therefore, I offer a free initial telephone consultation to discuss how I can help you. This initial call gives you the opportunity to explore your reasons for seeking therapy and includes, talking about your present difficulties, background history and other relevant information.

Most importantly, this is an opportunity for you to identify your hopes and expectations of therapy. If you wish to proceed, we will agree to meet on a weekly basis at an agreed time. My first session

The assessment session gives you the opportunity to explore your reasons for seeking therapy. This includes, talking about your present difficulties, background history and other relevant information. Most importantly, this is an opportunity for you to identify your hopes and expectations of therapy. If you wish to proceed, we will agree to meet on a weekly basis at an agreed time.

I offer six sessions initially, in addition to the assessment session, for those who would like longer term therapy the sixth session tends to be a review session to review the work and it is at this point where we discuss if further sessions are needed for longer term therapy.
