About me and my therapy practice
I’m an experienced person-centred therapist and have worked successfully with hundreds of clients on a wide range of issues.
I will help you to explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviour, and worldview, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence.
I will help you discover your own abilities that you can use to work through your own issues, build your self-confidence and appreciate that you always have options.
No-one else knows exactly what it’s like to be you.
I will not judge you, no matter what you bring to the session. I will build a trustworthy relationship in which you can feel free and supported to disclose whatever is troubling you.
In therapy you will learn how to be your authentic self. You will discover your own abilities and autonomy, so that you can cope with current and future problems.
Practice description
What is therapy?
Therapy offers you a safe, confidential place to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. As your therapist I will work at creating the right environment in which you are able to do this, which will allow you to develop a greater understanding of your own thoughts, feelings and meanings. I am not there to analyse you or give advice, but instead to be along side you, support you and help you to explore and make sense of your own issues. This will enable you to find your own 'answers' and find your own way forward.
How will it make me feel?
It's a very personal process where sometimes it is necessary to talk about painful feelings or life events that have hurt you, so it can be emotionally draining, however I will make sure you don't become overwhelmed. Quite often I use relaxation techniques to "calm" the mind. In the long-run you should have a better understanding of yourself and be more resilient. You should feel stronger and able to cope better with life's ups and downs.
Will it work for me?
It works for a lot of people, especially if you are able to really open up and talk about things you've maybe never spoken to anyone about. Talking about very personal and often painful things can sometimes be difficult but I will do my best to make sure you are safe and go at a pace that suits you. It can really give you clarity and help understand who you are and what you really need from life. It can be incredibly empowering. It can totally transform your life.
What sort of issues do you work with?
I work with many issues; some I have listed below. Whatever the issue is, I will help you make sense of your emotions, how you relate to others and how you view and experience the world you live in. Therapy should help you live a happier, more contented and meaningful life.

I'm afraid I'm not taking on any new supervisees at the moment. Thanks for stopping by!
About me and my therapy practice
All counsellors and psychotherapists are required to have their own supervisor to review their work with clients, their professional development, and sometimes their personal development as well. Supervision is a professional service, rather than a managerial role, and the supervisor acts as a consultant rather than a boss.
I really enjoy working as a supervisor for other counsellors. Although my own practice is underpinned by the person-centred approach I work with supervisees from different approaches too. I have a Certificate in Individual Supervision for Counsellors and Psychotherapists from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and offer supervision to both qualified counsellors and counsellors in training.
Practice description
In my supervision practice I provide a safe, supportive and confidential environment for both experienced counsellors and counsellors in training.
