About me and my therapy practice
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: IN LIGHT OF THE COVID CRISIS I WILL BE WORKING FROM HOME OFFERING ONLINE OR TELEPHONE APPOINTMENTS DURING LOCKDOWN. FOR THOSE ON FURLOUGH OR FINANCIALLY AFFECTED BY THE VIRUS I AM REDUCING MY FEE TO £45.00 FOR INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS AND £55.00 for COUPLE WORK. I WILL NOT CHARGE A CANCELLATION FEE IF SESSIONS ARE CANCELLED AT SHORT NOTICE DUE TO COVID RELATED EMERGENCIES
I am a registered BACP Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in Bristol. I practice in Thornbury, Clifton and Westbury on Trym using a variety of theoretical approaches to assist you in understanding and working through your issues. The relationship with you, the client is central to my work.
For some people the decision to seek counselling can be a difficult and daunting prospect. The best way to start is to simply arrange an introductory session, where we would explore what has brought you to therapy and discuss how we might work together. It is important for you to feel comfortable in your choice of therapist.
Practice description
I have experience working with individuals and couples from many different walks of life and motivations to enter therapy. I have worked in private healthcare where I facilitated a range of group therapy sessions and managed an individual caseload and I have been in private practice for over 10 years.
In general my work involves person to person counseling and it is my task to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space within which you can gain a better understanding of your world space. Depending on your needs I may draw upon various approaches including psychodynamic, CBT, humanistic or existential but fundamentally it is the relationship with you that is central to the work.
