At present, regular sessions are currently available on Tuesdays (10:30am or 12noon). I also have some availability on Fridays (range of times, from 12noon).
Though I'm taking some holiday in August - meaning there might be a fortnight in between sessions rather than a week - it would still be possible to 'begin' on something that concerns you during these summer months, with weekly sessions available again from early September.[Last updated: Mon 26th July 2021; I will update my availability again on Mon 2nd August].
About me and my therapy practice
If you’re looking at this directory page because you’re looking for support, well done: to have started looking is an important and often a brave step.
Whether you end up meeting with me for counselling, with another counsellor, or receiving other help, please be assured that support is out there.
I am able to offer counselling via Zoom or by phone. I am based in the Mendips, Somerset - if you live or work in the region, I am able to work with you face-to-face. My counselling website tells you more about how I can work with adults (18+), with young people (age 16 to around 21), about family concerns and about training that I can offer to organisations.
I wish you well with your search, and look forward to hearing from you if you decide to contact me.
I have been a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2004.
This means that I have completed a recoginsed counselling training programme over the course of a number of years, and also that I work within the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.
A lot of my counselling and pastoral work over the last fifteen years has been in education (working with teenagers and parents of teenagers). I've also been working 'in private practice' with both teenagers and adults since 2018 and, since June last year, I've also been working for a mental health charity as one of their helpline staff.
My first session
First sessions are offered at a lower fee of £10; subsequent sessions are £45, with a limited number of concessionary places for the unwaged, low-waged, or those experiencing financial uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A first session - offered with no obligation or expectation that you must then book further sessions - offers me the chance to explain a bit more about counselling generally, and for you to begin to speak about, and get some perspective on, the concerns that have led to you being interested in counselling as a possible way forward.
