About me and my therapy practice
Do you feel sad, anxious, lonely, guilty, fearful, stuck or simply like you don't belong? I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings, what you want to change about your life and the best way for you to make that change. I will help you do this by listening carefully to anything you tell me and exploring what this means for you in an open and honest therapeutic relationship. I believe that every individual has the capacity within themselves for growth, healing and finding resolution for difficulties in their life and together, we will endeavour to find and use that inner resource for positive change.
Practice description
I offer telephone or online (Zoom) counselling sessions as well as face to face counselling. Please see website for details as well as considerations for deciding whether face to face or online/telephone is the right choice for you.
I am able to see adult clients and couples but I do not have training in working with children or young people and so am unable to offer a service to anyone under the age of 18.
There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions, nor a set interval between sessions. These considerations would be discussed with you at regular intervals to ensure therapy is appropriate and delivered effectively.
Fees:
£40 per 50 minute session for individuals
£50 per 50 minute session for couples
My first session
I offer a free 15 minute phone conversation prior to our first therapeutic session. This is to allow both of us to feel confident that we could work together in a therapeutic relationship and for you to ask any questions that you may have about the counselling process or about myself as a therapist.
If you decide to go ahead with therapy, then our first session will involve a review of confidentiality procedures, taking some personal history details and discussing what the main issue or issues are that you want to bring to therapy. Often, people want to be heard and understood in that first session with more in-depth discussion happening in later sessions. We can also discuss a very specific issue in depth as well. Whatever you bring to any session, I will hear, acknowledge and care about what this means for you.
