About me and my therapy practice
I am interested in you, what matters to you and what has led you to considering counselling.
I am person-centred and draw on humanistic approaches, you lead, and I walk alongside you. I do not offer advice or guidance, but I listen, deeply, to hear and to see the world from your place within it.
It is important to have a sense of safety and trust, it is the bedrock of building a therapeutic relationship. Research tells us that it is the relationship above the modality that matters most within counselling.
By creating a space with you, that is focussed on you and what you wish to bring, there is an investment and commitment of time, to pause, to consider, to reflect, to be curious. A time where the loudness of life can be quietened so that you can have a place to explore your thoughts and feelings, where you matter.
Practice description
Being ready to commit to counselling is a part of the process, entering into taking action and the task of finding a good fit with a counsellor, is vital but can also feel daunting and overwhelming.I offer an informal and initial 20 minute phone consultation, so that you can find out more about how I work and if I am able to offer what you are looking for from counselling.
I offer short and long term work, on a weekly basis. Sessions are 50 minutes and I regularly check in with you, to make sure that what we are working on is what matters most to you.
