About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am an MBACP Person Centered Counsellor based in Rodney Street Liverpool. I work alongside my clients in a reflective and supportive manner, enabling them to improve their lives. I am also qualified in the Rewind Technique for Trauma and a Children's and Young Persons Grief Counsellor.

If you have suffered a traumatic event or have PTSD, the Rewind Technique is an effective method to help gain control of any traumatic memories and thoughts, rather than they having control over you. If you suffer flashbacks, nightmares or recurring intrusive thoughts then contact me and I shall explain how the Rewind works.

In regards to person centered counselling, rather than to give advice or direct you according to my ideas or opinion, I will facilitate you on a journey of finding your own truth. I believe you know what's best for you, I will be there to help and encourage you to find the answers and solutions I believe you already hold inside. Whatever your reasons for considering counselling e.g. a loss or bereavement, anxiety or self esteem issues, or relationship issues, be sure that we can work together to make positive improvements.

For those who have never experienced a counselling session before, the idea can sometimes feel daunting. Be reassured that I work in an informal and friendly manner. The sessions will not feel clinical, but rather more natural and warm.

I offer a safe place for you to be free to express yourself and your emotions, safe in the knowledge you will not be judged and our sessions are confidential. Though at times the work we do together may feel challenging, I will always treat you with respect, honesty and compassion. I want the best for you and that will always be at the core of our work together.

£40 per Face to Face session

£35 per Video session

£30 per Telephone session

Practice description

Due to the easing of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, I will be resuming face to face sessions in my therapy room from 21st July onwards. I am able to offer video and telephone sessions in the interim for those clients who wish to access counselling. Please message me for details. Thank you.

My first session

During our first session I will start by introducing myself and offering you a contract, which we will discuss together. This will outline what is on offer in the sessions, and also highlight the legal and ethical boundaries I must adhere to.  This is a working document and can be tailored to the individual client. I will also ask you to complete a short questionnaire. This will focus on how you have been feeling in the past couple of weeks. It is not mandatory to complete if you prefer not too, it is just a useful tool to help measure your mood. Once the contract has been agreed and you have asked any questions or queries you may have, we can begin our work together and the session is yours to explore and reflect upon whatever issue / issues it is you wish to work on.
