About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Kerry and I am an MBACP registered Counsellor based in Rodney Street Liverpool. I work in a person centered way with my clients. Meaning, I work alongside my clients in a reflective and supportive manner, enabling them to improve their lives.

Rather than to give advice or direct you according to my ideas or opinion, I will facilitate you on a journey of finding your own truth, your own answers. I believe you know what's best for you, I will be there to help and encourage you to find the answers and solutions I believe you already hold inside. Whether your reasons for considering counselling are to help you process a loss or bereavement, perhaps you are suffering with anxiety or self esteem issues, or maybe you are experiencing relationship or family issues. Maybe you are feeling sad or lonely and struggling to cope. Whatever area of your life you feel is holding you back be sure that we can work together to make positive improvements.

For those who have never experienced a counselling session before, the idea can sometimes feel daunting. Be reassured that I work in an informal and friendly manner, doing my up most to make my clients feel safe and respected. The sessions should not feel clinical, but rather more natural and warm.

I offer a safe place for you to be free to express yourself and your emotions, safe in the knowledge you will not be judged and our sessions are confidential. Though at times the work we do together may feel challenging, I will always treat you with respect, honesty and compassion. I want the best for you and that will always be at the core of our work together.

I also work as a School Counsellor, helping children with a variety of issues. By adapting my style accordingly, I am able to work effectively with both children and adults.

£35 per Face to Face session (50mins)

£30 per Skype session (50 mins)

£25 per Telephone session (50 mins)

Practice description

Due to the easing of Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, I will be resuming face to face sessions in my therapy room from 21st July onwards. I am able to offer video and telephone sessions in the interim for those clients who wish to access counselling. Please message me for details. Thank you.

My first session

During our first session I will start by introducing myself and offering you a contract, which we will discuss together. This will outline what is on offer in the sessions, and also highlight the legal and ethical boundaries I must adhere to.  This is a working document and can be tailored to the individual client. Once the contract has been agreed, we can begin our work together and the session is yours to explore and reflect upon whatever issue / issues it is you wish to work on.
