About me and my therapy practice

I offer a warm, friendly empathic and understanding approach. I can connect with a range of people on varied issues. I do not believe in one psychological approach to fit all. I strongly feel all people are unique in the way we think, feel and perceive our world. I like to be driven by what you need.

We will work together to have a clear agreed way of working that includes our boundaries and expectations. We will not start any counselling until we are both happy with this. Initially I will ask you to explain your reasons for attending Counselling and what you are hoping to achieve from your sessions. I will also invite you to share your background, your family, interests etc. At times, I may sensitively challenge you by asking you to reflect and consider issues from a different perspective. Or to make links with the past which you may not have thought about before.

I work one to one with people, aged 18 + years, on a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on your needs and circumstances. Most people require more than one session to help overcome issues, therefore I offer short, medium or longer- term work. I will invite you regularly to review your progress and see where you wish to go next.

I have a special interest and experience in working with clients and their families, with Autistic Spectrum Condition.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within their Ethical Framework. I strive to uphold and adhere to the BACP’s clear working principles, morals and values, which aim to put the client at the heart of Counselling.

I provide a trusting therapeutic relationship which will enable you to feel open and honest, safe and confident to discuss your issues, making the most of your Counselling sessions.
