About me and my therapy practice
I am a play therapist offering non-directive play therapy for 4-11 year olds.
I trained from 2016 and qualified in 2019 at Leeds Beckett university with APAC the training body for Play Therapy UK. I was previously a primary school teacher.
I offer creative arts counselling to young people 11-14.
I aim (if appropriate) to start all therapeutic interventions is a non-directive way. Play and creative arts can allow client-led expression of presenting issues. When trust and connection are developed it may be appropriate and agreed to offer more directive interventions.
I am also trained to work with parents on building stronger relationships with their children through play.
Confidentiality for the client is very important, how that is managed and achieved is shared and agreed with parents before therapy begins.
As a relax kids coach I can offer coaching in relaxation strategies if deemed more appropriate for a client than therapy.
