About me and my therapy practice

Online Psychotherapy

For people struggling with aspects of life and/or relationships. Counselling or Therapy online can be an easy and more convenient way to access therapy in the midst of a busy life where there are multiple demands upon your time.

Anxiety & Depression

Feeling overwhelmed and held back by your anxiety? Or stagnating and in retreat because of depression or feeling stuck? Are you bereaved and mourning the loss of a loved one? People enter into counselling or psychotherapy for many different reasons, you may be going through a difficult time and are looking for a supportive space in which to offload, explore and better understand your experience. Online therapy can help you identify the reasons behind this and plan a way forward.

Relationships & Sexuality

How is your relationship? Are you frequently in conflict with your partner? Do you struggle to agree upon shared goals and plans? Has the passion faded or died? Or perhaps you are conflicted or uncertain about your sexuality? Talking about these difficult issues with a trained therapist with the added convenience and ease of doing so via on-line counselling can help. The first step towards talking about this is often the hardest. Schedule an appointment now; you can either call me on: +44 790 5913 448 or email me at

Practice description

I'm Steve Kirby and I provide On-line Therapy and Counselling for people who are struggling with feelings of Anxiety & Depression. Or are experiencing difficulties in their Relationships or perhaps questioning their Sexuality.

I help people to become more self-accepting, motivated and authentic. Through empathic and active listening, I provide a supportive environmnet for you to begin exploring your doubts and fears.

Together we'll tackle the roots of the problem and find a way out towards a richer and more fulfilling future.

It's possible to start feeling less anxious or dissatisfied. As your therapist I will meet you where you are, supporting and accompanying you on your journey of exploration. I see my role as helping you to access the central 'core' of who you are, so that you can then begin to make choices about how you might live a life more in tune with who you really are.

Therapy sessions with me will help you to:

- Clarify those aspects of life that cause distress, confusion, dissatisfaction or anger. Such feelings often lead to a sense of being stuck, unfulfilled and frustrated with life.

- Develop better strategies for managing dips in mood and energy.

- Start to fight and challenge the negative thoughts and feelings.

- Identify the authentic you, hidden beneath the public self you present to the world.

- Develop the courage to put yourself front and centre.

- Feel a significant reduction in anxiety, fear and low mood.

Therapy can help you start to feel in control of your life again.

On-line therapy can help you become the person you want to be. Meeting with a therapist for the first time can be anxiety provoking; talking about your innermost fears and worries is not easy. But it can be the start of finally facing up to the challenge of identifying and addressing what is wrong or not working in your life. It can be the catalyst that helps you to realise and become the person you want to be.

My first session

The first session is an assessment session. It's an opportunity for you to explain what brings you to therapy and what you hope to get from it. It is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about my approach and way of working.

In getting an overview of what you are currently struggling with I will also be assessing whether my skills and training and are a good fit.  (If not I would tell you this and suggest how you might find a therapist better suited to helping you.)

Deciding whether or not you want to commit to ongoing therapy can be difficult. So I always suggest that people take 24 hours after the initial assessment session to reflect and consider if they wish to proceed or would prefer to look elsewhere.
