About me and my therapy practice

Life experiences, our relationships and our environments can block or distort our path to feeling well, fulfilling our potential and achieving a sense of value. I provide online and telephone based person centred counselling, whereby I work with the client to understand their individual experiences from their own perspective.

I focus on providing a therapeutic relationship, based on empathy, acceptance and genuineness. Through this process, clients will experience acceptance and a deeper understanding of their feelings and issues. Where appropriate I will incorporate solution focused techniques which focus on a client’s existing resources and future hopes.

The approach enables clients to work through the blockages and distortions and identify the steps needed to achieve positive change. There are many benefits to this approach including achieving a better understanding of self, releasing insecurities and developing more trust in one self. All of these positive changes are proven to reduce distress and are helpful in combating issues such as anxiety, depression, working through trauma and addressing relationship difficulties.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 10 years experience as a counsellor. I hold a Diploma in Person Centred Therapy & Counselling as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision.

I have also trained in working with survivors of trauma and in solution focused approaches.

About me and my therapy practice

I have over 10 years experience, practising as a person centred counsellor and over four years experience as a clinical supervisor. I provide telephone and video supervision, mainly utilise the seven-eyed process model of supervision which focuses on addressing and developing practice in areas relating to interventions, relational dynamics, client process, therapist process, as well as taking into account wider context.

As well as supervising clinicians in generic settings, I have particular experience and expertise in supervising counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists working with trauma survivors.

Whilst predominantly trained as a person centred therapist, within supervision I drawn on a range of theoretical concepts from other approaches including psychodynamic, solution-focused and trauma-informed approaches.
