About me and my therapy practice

Hello, my name is Jennifer, and I'm a fully qualified and registered psychodynamic psychotherapist and counsellor.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental, and confidential space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, an open-ended talking therapy that explores how past experiences and early relationships shape unconscious patterns and emotions, influencing our behaviours and how we feel in the present.

Often, unconscious patterns manifest as anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, relationship and family challenges, or work struggles. By exploring and understanding these underlying issues, I aim to bring awareness to what might be happening subconsciously and provide perspective on how past experiences have influenced your present situation. Together, we'll work to find answers and help you develop greater self-awareness, allowing you to approach your relationships, career, and life with more insight and freedom.

My journey to becoming a psychotherapist began after several years in the corporate world, driven by a profound understanding of life’s unexpected challenges. This experience has fuelled my passion for helping others navigate their own paths, especially when they feel isolated, overwhelmed or that they are struggling to move forward.

I'm here to support you on this journey, offering empathy, insight, and a compassionate space where you can discover your own path to well-being. You are welcome to share anything on your mind as we foster a trusting and genuine therapeutic relationship. I believe that each person is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, we'll work together to find answers tailored to you as an individual, helping you develop greater self-awareness.

My first session

Our initial meeting will be a free 15-minute telephone consultation where we can discuss your reasons for seeking counselling. This is an opportunity for us to explore your current situation and feelings, and for me to share about my approach and how I can support you. This time also allows you to experience what it is like to interact with me, helping you decide if I am the right counsellor for you to work with.
