About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified and experienced relationship counsellor, passionate about empowering and enabling couples and families to thrive in their relationships with each other, creating healthier and happier futures for everyone.  I am working face to face and online.

I am integrative in style which means I use theories and interventions from the psychodynamic, CBT and humanistic models. This allows me to adapt my approach to suit the clients’ needs.

Practice description

Couple counselling

I provide a safe, confidential space in which to explore all the challenges in the couple life. These can include anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, sexual difficulties, financial stresses, infidelity and loss of trust, communication problems, conflict and challenges of parenting young children and teens. My sessions are a place to unpack past injury and present dissatisfaction in a healthy careful way; many couples struggle to find the right space to have difficult conversations which can hold them back. I work with heterosexual and same sex couples.

Family counselling

In my family work, we can work with adults and their younger, teen or adult children on issues such as conflict, separation and divorce, blended family challenges, living with SEND and other mental health and behavioural difficulties. I have frequently worked with families who been through the CAMHs process or have not qualified for their help.

Young People counselling

I am also a qualified young person counsellor, experienced in working with young people in schools and colleges. In a confidential space, I work with young people on issues like anxiety and depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, bullying, sex and parental complications. I can work individually with a young person or in a family setting.

My first session

Coming for counselling as a couple, family or young person can be a daunting prospect but my friendly and approachable style means we explore the presenting issues and find our solutions together as a team. I try to challenge and use my natural curiosity to encourage reflection and to bring about real and lasting change for the better. I offer online and face to face sessions in several locations in Redhill/Dorking. One of my locations has a creche option available on certain days for young children and for an extra hourly charge (subject to availability).

Finding the right counsellor is important for any ongoing work, you need to feel relaxed and safe in order to move forward in any changes you wanted to make.  I offer a free 15 minute phone or Zoom consultation to see whether I am the right fit for you.
