About me and my therapy practice
Being able to create a space where you feel safe to share difficult part of yourself and work towards growth and self-compassion is so important to the counselling work. My aim is to work with you in a non-judgmental capacity, to build trust in a counselling process that is tailored to your needs. Honesty is a requirement of the work.
I am a qualified counsellor that works integratively with clients, taking aspects of well-established counselling models to best serve the client. People can feel lost and isolated at the time of seeking help but the first step is to see if counselling is the right fit for you and what you feel able to cope with. I can work creatively to help clients unlock untapped aspects of themselves. The counselling process, with the right relationship, can be the key to the change that is needed and a supportive place to reflect each week.
Online counselling is achieved through the video platform Google Meet. Internet access and webcam is required. Our sessions will start on the hour at the same time each week.
Telephone counselling is conducted from my mobile phone to yours. It is important that you have access to good phone signal at the point of call. You will receive a phone call from me at the time arranged, on the hour, weekly.
In person counselling is done from my office in Surbiton (a flight of stairs are required to climb in order to access the counselling room and there is no lift). The room is private and quiet with easy access from Surbiton station.
Whichever is your chosen way of counselling, it is important for you to find a space that is quiet and comfortable for our sessions. I work safely and ethically in accordance with the BACP's ethical framework.
My first session
Before our first session I will send you a welcome letter explaining the process that gives a flavour of what to expect. In our first session we will talk through information and details as to what has brought you to seek the service and decide if working together feels like a good fit. It is a time to gain more understanding of the process and expectations you may have.
