I have over 20 years of experience of helping people come to terms with and resolve a wide range of problems including trauma, anger management, anxiety, depression, relationships problems, loss and low self esteem

You are probably looking for some help to resolve a problem, or to make deeper changes in how you see yourself and the quality of your life. Sometimes this may be a feeling that things are "not quite right" or you are living in a way that seems overly restrictive or self defeating. You might believe that your reactions to events or to others are self limiting. Alternatively, you may experience some of the problems below which often involve a heightened level of stress or anxiety. If this sounds familiar then please get in touch for an initial meeting.

My Approach

I understand that deciding to come to psychotherapy or counselling can feel like a daunting first step. My approach is to take time to hear what is troubling you and work with you to explore the behavioural patterns, thoughts, feelings and sensations associated with what you are experiencing. Often what we experience as problems or troubles result from what has happened to us. We deal with events and circumstances in the best way we can at the time, however, these ways of coping may no longer be useful for how you want to live now. I will support you in deciding what changes you want to make and help you put these into action.

Sessions, what to expect

During our initial sessions we will begin to discuss your problems or difficulties and the out-comes you want from our sessions. You can change these and amend them at any time during our work. In these sessions we begin to bring into awareness beliefs and patterns of behaviour, you may feel are no longer useful to you. This may also be a time when you get support in dealing effectively with a crisis, stress or traumas.
