About me and my therapy practice
As an Integrative Therapist I use the person-centred approach to underpin my approach. I am able to offer CBT helping you to realise the correlation between thoughts, emotions and behaviour and Psychodynamic helping you to see how events from childhood may be influencing you as an adult. I can, therefore, base my support on whichever approach I feel would be most appropriate for your needs and that will provide me with insight and method in helping you in the areas you might be struggling.The counselling relationship is like no other you will ever experience - it’s all about you.
The experience of a therapeutic relationship, one in which you are genuinely valued, understood and accepted without judgement, can bring about healing in itself.
At certain times in our life, we will experience life-changing events: relationship problems, illness, loss problems at work and they can leave us lost, confused and alone. Our ability to function normally is affected and sometimes we struggle both emotionally and physically making it difficult to face the day ahead. Counselling allows you to talk about the thoughts, feelings and emotions that are causing you trouble, it can help you to unravel the confusion, improve your self-esteem and help you to better understand your true self leading to better-improved relationships with people and with your life.
Practice descriptionAt this moment in time we are being asked to stay at home for our own and others safety. This isolation and separation from our loved ones and our normal way of life can cause anxiety, panic attacks, palpitations and other symptoms. Pre-existing anxiety or depression can spiral out of control. Having someone to talk to and share your worries can bring comfort and reassurance to help you manage your mental and physical health. I can offer you safe and confidential online or telephone support to help you get through it. There will be no judgement, just a calm safe space for you to be really listened to and begin your journey to self-worth, acceptance and integrity.
My first session
My first session is normally about us getting to know each other, assessment and treatment plan. It’s a time for us to discuss whether I can meet your expectations and if we can work together.
