All session are online, Zoom, Teams or phone, your safety is paramount in these uncertain times...I have availability in the evening and on weekends. I know time is difficult to find within a busy week day. 

There are times in you life when you need to find a space where you feel comfortable and safe to talk about  problems you are facing without feeling judged or criticized. I aim to create this space by helping you to feel safe enough to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a non- judgmental, confidential and trusting environment. I will not tell you what to do, although occasionally I may give you information if it will benefit you or explore with you alternatives ways to approach your problems.  I will discuss with you your, aims or  goals that you would like to achieve in therapy.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a  integrative therapist which means I use a range of modalities and skills ensuring I meet your needs. I specialize in domestic abuse/violence and the effects it has on a person's psychologically, emotionally and behaviourally. I also specialise in none violent resistance (NVR), this is child to adult abuse.  I also have experience and knowledge of working with people who are experienceing  mental health, substance misuse and attchment problems. Early childhood experiences reflects throughout ones life, the tools and skill you were given or, lack off, depending on you childhood attchment experiences. help shape your adult relationships and your perception of life. I believe early Attachments has an effect on ones mental health and, the coping strategies you use to manage painful emotions and behaviours. 

Have you ever felt lost as to who you are, do you find yourself looking to others for answers or, you find yourself apologise alot to fit in due to low self-esteem and self-worth. To help address your lived experiences, I work in a insubjective way which means we will work together to make sense of how you experience your world and how you relate to it. Throughout  the  counselling process you are always in control, You take the lead  in your journey. I will always go at your pace, making changes can be challenging and sometimes painful but beneficial for happiness.

Practice description

As a therapist I believe the relationship we build should be collaborative to get the best out of therapy. I believe in you to find the best way forward. I am there  to help you to challenge yourself, to find different ways of looking at your problems. I am there to listen and except you for who you are. There will be times when I may need to challenge your thoughts and behaviours that no longer work for you. I will work with you to find answers or exceptance that will bring you peace. Therapy is a process that is both challenging and rewarding. 

My first session

The first session gives us a chance to get to know each other ask questions and, establish the beginning of a therapeutic relationship if, it feels right for both of us. Also, when we first make contact, we can talk about what it is you would like from counselling. This may not be immediately clear for you at first or you may have clear goals.  This can be discussed through the assessment, were you can ask questions about the process.
