About me and my therapy practice
Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions I promote behavioural change by encouraging the adoption of new attitudes and reactions.
Counselling and Psychotherapy methods help to instil self-understanding and encourage the adoption of new attitudes and feelings towards life situations.
It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment. Making small changes to self-defeating behaviour and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring about positive change.

My first session
I completely understand that having your first session with a new therapist can feel disconcerting.
You can expect me to put you at ease and talk to you about your reasons for coming and what you might like to work on in therapy, in a non-judgemental environment.
A first session with me is a full hour, consisting of some information gathering, history taking but also a real chance for you to engage in a therapy session. Your first session is half price.
Therapy is a process and building trust with a new therapist takes time. I will not encourage too much depth in a first session, I will guide and help you to reveal and discover truths at an appropriate pace. Challenge is also part of a robust and effective therapy journey, once trust is established.
By the end of the first session you should have a good idea of me as a therapist, and a feel for how I work.
