About me and my therapy practice
Counselling for couples:
One hour sessions: £60
I offer counselling for couples experiencing difficulties in their relationship and work within the Emotionally Focused Therapy framework.
This offers both support to my clients and a way to restructure their relationship, providing a warm and safe place where they can explore, reach out to each other and reconnect.
We work together to enhance accessibility, responsiveness and engagement between partners; we look to 'learn a new dance' and move forward.
Counselling for individuals:
50 minute sessions: £50
I offer a safe, warm and welcoming place, away from the distractions of everyday life, somewhere to stop, think and re-assess: somewhere to be authentic.
The Quiet Place is all about bearing witness to your story, a chance to have your voice heard, without judgement and in confidence.
I work within the Person Centred approach and am an integrative counsellor, which means my work is client-focused and client-led, and I am able to draw on different modalities, or theories, to best help my clients.
Practice description
I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP, and work within their Ethical Framework. I have a supervisor, who ensures I am able to offer the best possible counselling, and I am fully insured.
As a counsellor, I offer you the chance to bring whatever issues you feel you would like to explore, and I will listen without judgement and in confidence. It is quite different to talking with friends or family. Together we work to help you find your own way through your difficulties.
Counselling is not about offering advice or answers: it is about helping you discover your own way so you can live your best life.
I am very happy to offer face to face counselling whenever possible, but I have extensive experience of working via Zoom if this proves to be more suitable for us, or indeed by telephone.
Sessions are usually weekly, and I work from home. I ask my clients to pay either prior to their session, or in cash on the day. Cancellations of less than 24 hours are charged at the full rate. Thank you.
My first session
I would like you to feel confident in your choice of counsellor, so I am happy to give you a call prior to your first session. We can discuss my contract, which explains how I work, and you can ask any questions.
In the first session, there is an assessment to complete and we begin developing the therapeutic relationship which will be so important in helping you resolve your issues.
