About me and my therapy practice

Hello and Welcome.

I am able to offer professional one to one counselling sessions   face to face and via the online platform Zoom.

I can work with clients from a much wider geographical area and I am able to work with clients based outside of the UK and I am fully insured.

I adhere to the Ethical standards of the BACP; I attend regular Supervision and I am DBS checked.

I believe in a holistic approach to my work, giving consideration to  mind and body and  how they interconnect in both emotional ill health and within the healing process.

I hold a particular interest in psycho-education. By understanding more about how your body works and exploring the deeper self from a perspective where we look outside just conscious awareness, can provide clarity to understanding feelings and behaviours that may be impacting the way in which you are feeling.

I have experience of supporting a wide range of emotional issues, however, I consider my Specialist areas to be:

Panic Attacks, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive thinking, Phobia’s and Clinical Depression. I have extensive personal and professional experience in this area and through my online resource www.itsjustafeeling.co.uk. I support client’s all over the world whom are experiencing these symptoms.

Bereavement and Terminal Diagnosis -I am professionally trained in this area of therapy and I have extensive experience in supporting individuals who are experiencing overwhelming, distressing and difficult emotions.

Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse -I am currently undertaking a Masters Degree in these subjects and have extensive experience of supporting clients in these areas.

For your piece of mind we are able to social distance in the room, there is hand sanitiser dispense, clear face masks and bottled water provided.

There is car parking available.

My first session

Please find the process for beginning counselling sessions as follows:

Stage 1

The Initial assessment- This is where we get an opportunity for you to meet me and to be in the room where we will work together. There is an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have and also gives me an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling so that I can understand how best to support you.

You may need to take additional time to decide if you would like to work with me and if so, that is fine, if you decide that you would like to continue with counselling and I feel that I have the skills to support you, I would then talk you through our working agreement and ask you to sign this. There will be a copy for you to take away.

Stage 2

We would then commence our counselling sessions.
