About me and my therapy practice
Hi. I am a fully qualified and experienced Person-Centred counsellor. Based in Beccles, I am currently working face to face, online and by phone.
If you are reading this you have probably already decided that you want to explore some aspect of your life that is troubling you. You may be suffering from anxiety or sadness, stressed at work, having relationship difficulties, or be experiencing a more vague sense that something just isn't quite right in your life. You may have a specific question about your life that you want help finding the answer to. You may have experienced a major life event such as illness, bereavement, or retirement that you are struggling to come to terms with.
My own experience of counselling has taught me that, given the right counsellor, it is possible to make sense of experiences that previously seemed too complicated or overwhelming to sort out. My aim as a counsellor is to provide a safe space in which you can explore your difficulties. I will listen as non-judgementally as I can, helping you to identify, untangle, and clarify those troubling, confusing emotions and thoughts. I will make space for you to express strong feelings, for example, of loss and anger at what has happened in your life, so that you can come to terms with those feelings. I will endeavour to be empathic and responsive to whatever you bring to counselling.
Qualifications:

Practice description
I have over five years experience working in both private practice and in a voluntary capacity in counselling charities.
I worked at The Norwich Centre as a volunteer for 4 years up until 2017.
I currently work as a volunteer at Time Norfolk - a charity offering counselling to people with issues relating to pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and other issues around pregnancy.
My first session
If you decide that you want to try counselling with me please contact me by either email, phone, or text. I will get back to you and we can arrange a time for your initial session which will last an hour.
You may be nervous about this appointment, particularly if this is your first experience of counselling. It is fine to take your time with me to explore this. In this session you will get an idea of how I work, and have an opportunity to ask questions. This will help you to work out if you feel I am someone you can work together with. I will also advise you on issues such as confidentiality, arranging appointments, my cancellation policy, and payment of fees.
If you decide that counselling is for you, we would usually arrange to have sessions weekly or fortnightly, and we will review how things are going on a regular basis. You may need just a few sessions, or you may need longer. What is important is that you work at the speed that helps you.

I currently have availability for online and face to face supervisees
About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, accredited counsellor and have now trained as a supervisor.
My counselling practice is essentially Person Centred. However, I am happy to take enquiries from practitioners of other counselling modalities, as I suspect that it is the relationship between the parties concerned that is more important than their respective modalities.
I currently see supervisees both online (Zoom) and face to face. If you are interested, please get in contact to arrange a free half hour to explore whether I can meet your supervisory needs.
