About me and my therapy practice
Hello, thank you for reading my profile!
I'm a warm and welcoming counsellor, working relationally. I provide short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy for all adults and teens who are struggling or stuck, and want to start feeling better.
Senses Psychotherapy and Counselling:
Sometimes it can be hard to find words to explain how we feel and that's okay with me. We'll work together to get a sense of what's happening, and explore what feels right, and what feels wrong. I believe in honest communication, so you can tell me exactly what you think or feel - no judgement here! If you choose to work with me, I also commit to being open and honest. I'll listen and support you, then together we'll work out what to do next.
My training is Postgraduate Diploma level, and I'm currently completing a research MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Nottingham. My research interest is chronic pain and the impact of supportive relationships, so I am constantly updating my knowledge in this area, collaborating with other health professionals and deeply curious about my clients' experience.
I'm passionate about the benefits of counselling. My work with MIND and the NHS has built experience in supporting people with a range of difficulties, emotional and physical. I am also a therapeutic parent, so I get how hard it can be to care for ourselves and manage the struggles of others who we love.
Practice description
My Practice
I'm a relational integrative therapist, and I love getting to know my clients as real people with unique stories. I aim to support you as a whole person, exploring past and present relationships, your difficulties and your strengths.
I like to make use of all the natural senses with my clients. Creatively exploring how we make sense of the world around us (and inside us) can make therapy a deeper, less scary, and fulfilling experience.
My first session
It can feel hard to pick up the phone or make contact, especially when you're hurting or feeling distressed. You are welcome to leave me a message or email me with any questions.
I start by offering a free phone consultation lasting about 20 minutes. This gives us a chance to chat about what you hope to gain from counselling and ask me any questions, without pressure.
If you are ready to go ahead, we'll arrange to meet for a first session at a cost of £25 for the first 50 minutes. After that, we usually meet at the same time each week, either at my clinic in Mansfield Woodhouse or online via Zoom.
Our first sessions will help give us a clearer picture of how we can work together, working always at your pace.
