About me and my therapy practice

There are any number of reasons for seeking counselling support. It may be a significant, life changing event or it may simply be that you have come to a point in life when you know things have to change, but don’t know exactly why or how to go about it.

At these times, talking to someone other than friends and family, about how you're feeling and may have been feeling for some time can help.

Working with the support of a counsellor may be the first time you have felt seen, heard and accepted. The first time you feel able to acknowledge, explore and work through your difficulties and find a way forward.

Finding the right counsellor for you is really important because you need to feel comfortable with your counsellor for the process to work for you.

As a psychodynamic counsellor, I am interested in exploring the links between the past and the present. We can’t change the past, but understanding it can help us make sense of how we are in the present.

I have been practising for 12 years, during which time I have had the privilege of working with people of all ages from 20-90 years of age.

Some of the issues I have helped with include: Bereavement, anxiety, living with ADHD, ADD and OCD, depression, relationship difficulties including between parent and adult-child, loss and grief, redundancy, becoming a carer for a significant other, making sense of and coming to terms with a difficult past, living with a life-changing or life-limiting disorder, low self-esteem, poor motivation, feeling stuck and unfulfilled.

Practice description

In our sessions, we will always work at your pace on whatever you bring to counselling or comes to mind during the sessions.

My role is to support and enable you to achieve what you want from therapy in a safe and confidential environment.

I offer open-ended and short-term therapy, working online through an approved telemedicine platform which is simple, reliable and very secure. Working online enables me to offer counselling to clients across the UK and abroad. It is also provides more flexibility if you are away from home, because you do not necessarily have to miss a session.

As a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) my work is underpinned by the BACP Ethical Guidelines for good practice. I have regular supervision of my practice and maintain and develop my knowledge and skills through Continuing Professional Development.

I have full indemnity insurance.
