About me and my therapy practice
I trained in Transactional Analysis (TA) a therapy model which offers help with a wide range of problems including depression, anxiety, stress, self esteem, relationships problems, anger, grief and loss. Using TA I will help you to explore the causes of your problems and how your role in them may be preventing you from reaching your full potential.
I am also trained in EMDR, a natural and empowering therapy, which assists the brain in working through distressing material. EMDR has been referred to as an accelerated emotional processing tool because it can enable clients to rapidly resolve certain kinds of emotional issues that might take years to treat effectively with the regular talking therapies. EMDR is more effective for some people than others. Therefore it is used based on your suitability following a detailed and thorough in-depth assessment.
I use CBT, where appropriate, to help you deal with problems by changing the way you think about the problem.
I also use mindfulness - a therapeutic technique and coping strategy which helps us to live in the present moment rather than brooding about the past or worrying about the future. The process of focusing on the breath while acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations is a very effective technique in improving mental well being.
