About me and my therapy practice
Hello. Having worked therapeutically with clients for over 20 years I am known to be a compassionate and approachable solutions-orientated therapist. Working with people going through crises and also with anyone wanting to feel better and improve self-awareness, I have experience of long and short term therapy. People usually begin with weekly one-hour sessions and then we reduce the frequency as you start feeling better.
I work exclusively over the telephone, enabling clients to speak from their own home or car without the need to travel and without the self-consciousness that can arise with working face-to-face. Just be yourself. If you need to cancel a session please give me a minimum of 24 hours' notice, otherwise the full session fee is payable unless due to an emergency. Payment is easy via bank transfer on the morning of the session. I will want to hear whatever you need to tell me and we will take it from there.
My first session
In the first session I usually do an assessment which consists of a few questions regarding your physical and emotional symptoms so that we can quickly measure the extent to which the work is helping you. (If you do not wish to do the assessment, that is fine.) I normally ask whether you wish to have a specific number of sessions or open-ended. Everybody is different and the first session includes the opportunity for us to begin to get to know each other and for me to learn what you want out of therapy, as well as what works best for you.
