About me and my therapy practice
Hello, my name is Cathy and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP. I am based in Basingstoke and offer face-to-face counselling in a safe, warm and confidential space. I work with both adults and young people (age 11+) and I am passionate about providing an inclusive and non-judgemental experience for all of my clients.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of therapeutic techniques which support me in tailoring an approach that is right for you. I provide a supportive and understanding environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions and experiences at your own pace. I respect your individuality and firmly believe in the power of a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic relationship.
In addition to my counselling practice, I have more than 16 years of experience working in educational settings, including mainstream schools and pupil referral units. I worked for over 7 years as a secondary school Student Inclusion Worker and I am currently employed as an Infant School ELSA alongside my counselling work. Through this experience, I have developed a strong passion for supporting people of all ages and backgrounds with their mental health and emotional well-being and it is this passion that led me into counselling.
I have experience working in both youth and adult counselling agencies and I currently continue to volunteer at The Mindspace Foundation alongside my private practice. Through my clinical practice, I have built upon my skills and experience and I have worked with many issues including anxiety, depression, loss and grief, relationship issues and low self-esteem. I feel truly humbled to have had the opportunity to work with such a diverse range of people and I look forward to continuing this journey together.
My practice is run from a dedicated therapy room in Basingstoke which offers a safe, warm and confidential space.
I provide both long-term and short-term counselling to adults and young people (11+).
Sessions are 50 minutes long and are primarily run face-to-face (although online sessions may be available).
I pride myself in providing an inclusive environment where all are welcomed and truly heard.
