About me and my therapy practice
Have you been struggling with the impact of historical trauma?
Perhaps you find yourself struggling with anger or depression.
Through counselling or longer-term psychotherapy, I can help you to explore the issues that feel difficult for you. Together, we can work towards a place where you feel hopeful, emotionally stable, and free to live your life in the way that you truly want to.
Are you and your partner struggling to communicate?
Have arguments or 'the silent treatment' become a way of life?
As an Imago Relationship Therapist, I help couples to identify the underlying causes of their current struggles and build a safe, loving, and intimate connection.
The Structure of each session is based on the Imago Dialoguing Process. Unlike a typical conversation, in dialoguing, we do not listen with the intent of giving an answer, but rather to really get the speaker. As a speaker, our intention is to be as easy to hear as possible, i.e. owning what we say instead of blaming our listener.
Imago Dialoguing adds to the sense of safety because the format is predictable.
Having supported couples in conflict, with dialoguing, I have found that practice has made it easier for them to:
- see each other as individuals
- value each other's perspective
- address difficult issues
- move towards shared relationship goals
The dialoguing process can be equally as effective between a parent and their adult child, or an engaged couple who want to explore any 'niggles' before their big day.
Therapy can seem like the last resort but it doesn't have to be.

My first session
The first session will be a time for me to collect basic details, such as your name, address, GP details and a little history. It will also be a time for you to ask any questions and to share what you would like me to know, in the first instance.
It's a time to get a sense of whether or not we are a good fit, and to begin to clarify your goals for therapy.
