About me and my therapy practice

I am a person-centred counsellor and aim to enable clients to explore their difficulties and problems in a safe non-judgemental environment, where they will feel accepted, held, listened to, heard and understood. I believe that therapy is not about solving problems or making them go away; it is more about having a clearer understanding of oneself and a better way of dealing with the challenges life invariable throws at us. I would hope to travel alongside my clients, not to change them or rescue them from the distress that overwhelms them, but to provide the space to explore, challenge and clarify those feelings and behaviours that may be hindering their goals. I use counselling rooms in Stratford-upon-Avon and Kenilworth.

About me and my therapy practice

My theoretical training is in the person-centred approach and within supervision I work from a person-centred perspective, modelling the core conditions, particularly the three qualities of genuineness, acceptance and empathy, and aims to use the whole of myself to develop the relationship and ways of working together that enables both change and growth in client work and in the supervisory relationship. I am particularly keen to establish psychological contact in order to encourage my supervisees to bring anything to supervision which worries or confuses them. My overall concern is that supervision should be a positive, growth-promoting relationship that would benefit both the supervisee and the client.
