About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I am Melanie.

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor / Therapist. I offer a safe and confidential space where you will be truly received and accepted just as you are, and with whatever it is you choose to bring.

As an Integrative Counsellor / Therapist, I am able to draw together the most useful parts of a range of therapeutic approaches and be able to respond with flexibility to the needs of the individual client. I honour the trust my clients invest in me. Everyone has the right to be valued and heard. It is important that this is reflected in the qualities I bring into developing a healthy and trusting relationship with my clients.

To support your capacity for growth and change, I endeavour to keep you and your needs at the centre of our work. Being an empathic person, I can communicate an understanding of another person's experience from their perspective.

I am fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity. I have a regularly checked DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service). I receive private supervision to support my work and update my professional status through Continuing Professional Development. I also work within the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure safe & professional practice.

Practice description

My practice room is in Parkstone, Poole, where I offer face-to-face sessions. I also offer online, home visit, walk & talk, or telephone sessions.

I offer both  short and long term therapy to individuals experiencing a wide range of issues.

My first session

I offer a Free 30 minute no-obligation conversation by telephone.

This provides the opportunity to widen your options by discussing  what it is you are looking to receive support for. I will be able to inform you of what I am able to offer by way of support and approaches, giving you an idea of what it may look like if we work together.
