About me and my therapy practice
It takes courage to take these first steps but if you are ready then I am here to help support and empower you.
My first session
On the day of your first session if we are working together online that might be via WhatsApp, or Zoom. If it is via zoom then I will send you a link prior to the session.
If we are working via telephone then I will call you at the agreed time and if we are working outdoors I will meet you at the time and place agreed.
Some clients also like to vary their sessions by having online therapy and outdoor therapy. If this is something that you would like to do we can discuss this.
Your initial session will include answering some questions which are gentle and not meant to be exhaustive or to make judgements but to be able to build a picture of what’s going on for you and for us to get to know each other better.
We will also discuss what you want me to help you focus on, if you want me to encourage you to go towards difficult emotions and to express strong feelings or if you want help focusing on your life in the past or to reflect on your childhood. Some clients like to work on specific long term issues and some like to bring their weekly problems. It’s your choice!
Towards the end of the session we will discuss a way of moving forward and how many sessions you would like to have i.e. short-term or long-term.
