About me and my therapy practice
I am a humanistic psychotherapist. I use Transactional Analysis and EMDR mostly in my work. I am also an equine assisted psychotherapist. There is a lot of evidence to show that a major contributor to a successful outcome is the quality of the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client, and this is an important aspect of my work. I see my job as offering you a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space to say the unsayable and to truly be you.
I work online and in-person, depending on your needs and wants, and what is feasible and practical. Face to face is preferable, but not always possible, and since the first lockdown I have continued to work on Zoom with most of my clients. When working in-person we obviously have to take the necessary health and safety precautions with COVID 19 in mind.
My first session
I offer an initial session of 30 minutes free of charge so that you can get a "feel" for what it might be like working with me, and for me to begin to get to know you and what brings you to therapy. We can then make a decision as to whether or not to continue, and you may want to give yourself a day or two to "sleep on it", before doing so.
