About me and my therapy practice

Life can be difficult at times and leave us thinking, feeling or behaving in ways we don't understand. Perhaps you want something to be different but aren't able to find a way forward. This is what I can help with.

I believe we all have within us the power to change, but we can't always see it, we don't always believe it and sometimes we can become stuck. Seeking help is the first step to making change happen.

I can help you to explore what is going on for you, support you in learning what is important to you and where you can begin to make sense of things. With greater self-awareness and insight you will feel more empowered to make choices and more able to move forward toward living the life you want to live. I can't give you all the answers, as only you know what the answers are for you, but I will come with you on that journey of exploration, supporting you to make decisions for yourself but not by yourself.

Practice description

I’m a professionally trained and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am fully insured.

I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for good practice. I attend regular clinical supervision and I'm committed to client confidentiality and continuing professional and personal development.

My first session

Finding the right counsellor can be a daunting process as there are so many of us to choose from. I offer a free, 20-minute, no-obligation, informal chat which gives me the chance to find out a little more about you and whether I am able to provide the help you are seeking. More importantly, it gives you the chance to learn a little bit more about me/my practice and whether you feel like we are a good fit and could work together.

Should you decide to go ahead, our first session will be a more detailed consultation where I will collect some information about you, your personal history, your current situation, what you hope to get from counselling and how you would like to work.

Prior to this session you will be asked to provide some personal details and you will also be sent a copy of the counselling contract to review. If you have any questions or concerns we will cover these during the session.

We will then set a day and time to meet, and our journey together will begin together.
