About me and my therapy practice

How can counselling help you? The most important thing it offers you is the chance to pause and reflect and to have a unique conversation that can help you discover better ways of living. I offer a safe and confidential space where you can get talk through your difficulties and explore different ways you can make a positive difference in your life.

I work in a person-centred way and this approach can also help you feel less isolated and alone by knowing that I understand what’s really going on for you. That you are being truly heard. And by talking to someone who is caring and understanding, you can learn to be caring and understanding towards yourself as well.

The philosophy of my approach is that we all have a natural ability to grow towards reaching our potential, though this growth can be thwarted by our life experiences and how we’ve been taught to think about ourselves. Counselling is a way to reconnect with this potential and to understand yourself better.

If you’re interested in having counselling with me then our initial contact would be by either email or phone followed by us meeting for an initial session, at a reduced rate, to discuss in more detail what has brought you to counselling. This is an opportunity for us to get a sense of the way we would work together and to think about what the best way forward for you is.

I have worked for many years as an honorary therapist and volunteer for the LGBTQ+ community both here in London and in New York City. I gained my counselling qualifications in Person-Centred Therapy in London and then I further studied Focusing-Oriented Therapy in New York City. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am bound by their Ethical Framework.
