Availability
I am currently offering sessions nationwide via Zoom and telephone.
I have availability on Thursdays and Fridays.
Research conducted suggests that these ways of working are just as effective as face to face in therapeutic outcomes. This provides individuals high levels of flexibility in terms of accessing counselling.
I do have plans to offer services via a room in Bradford in the near future.
If your availability is outside of the above, please provide me with a date/time that works for you and I will try my best to accommodate.
About me and my therapy practice
I am an inclusive and multilingual counsellor accepting of all faiths, cultures and religion. I am always open to learn about other faith groups and cultures, therefore I am open to all enquiries.
My aim as your counsellor will be to give you the time, space and environment to strive towards self understanding and growth. Life can feel overwhelming and isolating when enduring challenging times, so coming to therapy can provide you with a safe space to process and understand your inner emotions and feelings. Therapy with me will support you to enhance self awareness, understanding and authenticity.
I currently work within the NHS supporting clients experiencing anxiety and depression. I am here for you or indeed anyone, who is struggling and cannot see a way out, as I understand how difficult it can be to seek help, in a world that often views asking for help as a weakness.
Being a person of colour and living within marginalised communities I understand well enough the pressures of trying to fit in. My aim as your counsellor will be to accept you just as you are and give you the space to explore themes around equality, equity, diversity and inclusion.
Practice description
Person centred therapy allows an individual the space to navigate through uncomfortable events and emotions linked to these, at your own pace. Therapy with me will support you to connect more with yourself and help you find ways to move forward in life. This unique space is unlike any other places, conversations with family and friends as this is 50 minutes for you and solely for you to talk about anything you feel is important and hard to voice elsewhere. My focus will be providing you with a non-judgemental space, empathy and unconditional understanding.
I have completed a BACP accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. On my placements I worked within a Bereavement service and Cancer support charity. I have worked and supported clients dealing with Anxiety, Depression, Complex PTSD, Low mood, low self esteem, terminal illness, identity, cultural barriers, religion and self harm.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I change. Carl Rogers, On Becoming a Person: A Therapist's View of Psychotherapy
