About me and my therapy practice
Have you recently had a baby or are you in the early years of motherhood? Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, low, anxious or like you've lost any sense of who you are? Perhaps you're struggling with memories of your birth experience? Or maybe you're grieving a little one lost to miscarriage or baby loss?
As a postnatal counsellor these are areas I support.
Whether you're on your first or fifth child you'll have discovered that motherhood comes with its challenges. So often everyone wants to hold your baby, but who holds you?
Having a baby is a huge transition. It can feel beautiful and miraculous but it can also feel utterly devastating at times.
I offer a no judgement zone where we can explore overwhelming emotions, scary thoughts or difficult memories that keep resurfacing.
Wherever you are on your journey, whatever you're going through, I'm here to help you reconnect with yourself. Let's work together so you can feel like you again and live the life you deserve whilst also being a mum.
I offer a free 15 minute chat so that you can share a bit about why you're seeking counselling and we can make sure I'm the right therapist for you.
You can book this by sending me a message through this profile or book it online through my website www.clairejudd.co.uk.
You can also find me on Instagram @therapy.for.mums
I'm so excited that you are doing this for yourself, that you are putting yourself first and I just know you won't look back.
Practice description
As an integrative, relational counsellor and psychotherapist, I adapt my practice to suit you.
I offer you a warm and calm environment in my home to explore what you're going through. I tell you my observations as we work together, helping you develop an understanding of where your thoughts and feelings come from so that we can shift the parts of you that are feeling stuck, and find you a place of peace.
I am always led by you and what you want to discuss. Sometimes each session might be focused on the area you originally sought counselling for, other times we might chop and change depending on what's going on for you at the moment. I'm always flexible as to what our sessions look like and I offer regular reviews along the way to make sure you're getting what you want and need from counselling.
If you've just recently had a baby and need to bring them along, you can. I know how difficult those early months can be working around feeding and naps! It might also be that you have questions about the bond between you and your baby in wish case it can be useful to bring them too.
My first session
It can be hard to feel at ease when you're sharing difficult thoughts and feelings with someone new and that's ok, you can take your time.
Alternatively you might feel you're going to burst if you don't get things out in the first session and that's fine too.
Our first session will include going through your expectations and what you want to ultimately achieve from counselling.
I'll ask you to give me a bit more context about what you're going through at the moment and we'll talk about what the main focus of the first few sessions might be.
