About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling/psychotherapy with individuals and couples, which is at present online. My style is relational and collaborative, drawing on several ways of working depending on your concerns and preferences and my range of skills and experience. We continue to review and adjust our work in relation to what seems to be most helpful for you. Preferably contact me initially by a brief email.
Practice description
At present my work is online by video, normally in '50 minute hour' sessions. Work may be short-term, medium or longer term, and we will normally review at intervals. In time, I hope to again include face to face work.
My first session
Our first (paid) session allows us both (all 3 in the case of couples) to meet and look at your hopes for counselling and get an idea of how well we work together, and how well my skills, experience and availability might fit with what you are seeking. There is no commitment on your or my part to then continue with further sessions if work with me does not seem appropriate, but if you wished, I would discuss with you possible directions that might better meet your needs.

About me and my therapy practice
I offer counselling and psychotherapy supervision with individuals and groups. I have a relational style; my training includes a Cascade Diploma in Supervision. My experience is in supervising therapists at varying stages of development, working from a variety of approaches, often integratively, and with very varied presenting issues. However I do not supervise work with under-16s.My first session
I believe that in a first session it's important for both supervisee and supervisor to establish a sense that it's likely they can work well together for the benefit of the supervisee and their clients. This includes that the supervisor can provide what the supervisee is looking for, in terms of 'meeting of minds' as well as in style, skills and experience. I charge for a first session as usual, and time is taken for us to get to know each other, your hopes and our expectations, as well as usually engaging with a little client work. I try to balance support and challenge according to your stage and needs throughout our work, and value your feedback as to what you find helpful. If either of us feels at our first session that your supervision might be better elsewhere we can consider options and if appropriate discontinue at that point without prejudice; and if we both feel our supervisory relationship has potential to work well, we can contract to continue to work together.
