Availability

I will be happy to work with you between the hours of 10.00am and 8.30pm during weekdays. Currently, like many others I use video, text or e-mail as the medium for us to work together.

I work mainly within the Cliniko system which has excellent and secure video provision, but we can use Whatsapp or Skype when that works better for you. I will provide the link for sessions.

I hope you will find these ways of working, to be safe, secure, intimate and supportive. I have seen that clients feel supported and are able to achieve the results they came looking for.

Practice description

Your counsellor is a BACP Accredited counsellor with 10 years experience of private counselling in Bristol and an integrated approach to meeting your needs. By training I have a Masters in Counselling and training in a number of therapies:

• Person Centred Therapy: letting you have the chance to reflect on your experiences of life.

• Narrative Therapy: listening to the story we tell our selves about our life and how this affects how we feel.

• CBT: changing thought patterns, supporting changing the way we feel. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, third wave CBT: which includes a view of the values we hold, mindfulness skills, and a commitment to changed behaviour.

• Training and experience in working on-line using text, e-mail, video and telephone.

• Couples Counselling with See for Miles Ltd..

My first session

I am aware that many people feel quite anxious when they come to a first session. And that is quite natural.  After all, you are talking to someone you have not met before and you often do not know what to expect from them or how you might feel when you start speaking about your concerns.

I like to take care to see that you do not get too distressed in a first session, we need to get an overview of your situation, just the headlines and to let you know we are going to establish a safe situation for you before we deal with difficult material.

I do not provide a free first session. I think the work we do then is very important and useful to you.
