About me and my therapy practice
If you are reading this I would like to welcome you in making the first steps in accessing support. The last 12 months have been an extraordinarily difficult set of circumstances and I would like to let you know that you are not alone and that the feelings that you may be experiencing are completely understandable. If you feel ready to seek support from a professional I will ensure to put your needs first by offering you the space and time to make sense of what is and has been going on for you.
I am registered with the BACP as a fully qualified integrative counsellor offering a professional, friendly, safe and effective space in Kings Norton. Practicing as an integrative counsellor is a recognition that there is not a 'one size fits all' approach to therapy. I see each client as an individual and treat them accordingly, seeing everything that makes you who you are. Your uniquely individual needs will be central to my counselling approach. My aim is to assist in developing enough support and insight to help you find yourself and to support you in making the choices you truly want.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training includes a foundation degree in integrative counselling (with distinction) and currently studying for a MSc in Integrative Counselling to become a psychotherapist. My 4 years counselling experience, combined with my own life experiences and journey through personal therapy has provided me with additional understanding and empathy on how it feels to be in the client’s chair.
Currently studying: Master's degree Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies MSc (UKCP Accredited), 2020 – 2023
BACP registration, 2020
Foundation Degree Intergrative Counselling (BACP Accredited), 2017-2020
Introductory Certificate in Counselling, 2017
Sessions are charged at £35 for daytime appointments. Evenings (after 6pm) and weekend appointments are charged at £45.
Sessions take place at The Health and Wellbeing Centre in Kings Norton, which provides a range of health and wellbeing services through qualified and experienced practitioners.
The centre is currently open during lockdown for essential services such as supporting mental health issues. The centre has spent a lot of time planning how we can open safely during this crisis, focusing on the safety of both staff and clients. We have formulated a 'Covid-19 safeguarding protocol' which we hope will re-assure you that we are taking all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of spreading infection.
My first session
An informal assessment will be conducted for our first 50 min session, in order to provide the time and space to consider properly what has brought you to therapy. This initial session also provides a chance for us to meet, for me to find out more about what has brought you to therapy, and for us to decide whether counselling, with me, is the best way forward.
First assessment sessions are charged at £25 and if you feel pursuing a therapeutic relationship is right for you, then a £20 deposit will be taken on that day to secure your next session.
